Vision
As part of the foundation we have establish a vision for the Nathan D. Allsbrooks Memorial basketball tournament and Scholarship Award. Specifically, sports and mentoring that has a positive impact on young people.
Sports and mentoring influence young people in five important ways:

Enhancing social skills and emotional well being

Improving cognitive skills through dialogue skills

Serving as a role model and advocate

Build leadership skills

Build confidence and a more active lifestyle
The relationship is the intervention and sportsmanship. Mentoring is a structured and trusting relationship that brings young people together with caring adults which helps give the youth the confidence, resources and skills they need to reach their full potential.
Nathan D. Allsbrooks Memorial Fund Project respects the uniqueness of each young person. Our approach is not a one size fit all approach. We believe that it is important to reach young people where they are to tap into the thing that excites them along with working to expose them to new possibilities.
Outreach Mentoring and Scholarship Award Program
Our goal with each young person is to create opportunities for personal growth in many areas of their lives:

Successful positive role models will come to interact and speak with the kids from a variety of professions (Self-Esteem building, Motivation and Encouragement, Initiatives for change)

There are very few effective programs in our region that offer these services consistently to the Youths in the community or any other entity as an option available to them to help the youth under their care.
For the past Fifteen years we have worked diligently with the youths in our community. Our experience has grown and will continue to give us a clear vision of what services are needed to help better serve these youth to reach their potential in the community. Our contact with professional citizens, vocational training clientele throughout the city has placed us in a position to provide quality services for any youth that will be fortunate enough to be part of our program.
We take pleasure in requesting support for The Nathan D. Allsbrooks Foundation and the Annual Nathan D. Allsbrooks Memorial Basketball Tournament (NDAMT) family and friends day, which will increase ambitions and goals for our youths.
